One of the most prized pieces of furniture in our home is a Barcelona chair & ottoman. Interesting fact: Many think this is a mid-century piece but it was actually designed in 1929 by German designers Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich.

It stands as a timeless icon of modernism and is just as decorative as it is functional. Doesn’t need any accessorizing whatsoever… at least that’s what I thought until I saw this:

The Clamp is a suspension lamp designed by Enrico Zanolla and Andrea Di FIlippo of DZstudio. It mimics the barcelona’s tufted surface but is actually cast from a mold and made of a hard plastic material. I can totally picture it suspended above our chair but at the same time, I can see it being over-kill. So the question is:

TOO MATCHY-MATCHY?

OR

MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN?
